Bill Waterworth - Marengo, IN

We were celibrating my birthday by camping at Patoka Lake when we heard a tornado watch was issued. We packed up thinking we would be safer at home. About 1 hours after we got home. My mom asked if I would let the kids stay in her basement so she wouldn't worry.

Paster Ed conway, Kyle Sammons, and myself were wathing the winds blow from south to north I remember telling Kyle if the wind starts going to the east to west look southeast for the (Before I could say Tornado Our ears started popping and we started running to the basement) I shouted tornado running through the house. After that time froze.

We came out and our Church was gone, the kids were crying were is Princess our family dog. My camper was wedged wheels toward my house. My shed and dog kennel were Gone the church was all over my yard. A TV camera Lady filmed us digging through the Debris looking for Princess. We found her 2 days later burried under the Church Across the street. She was hurt And we had to Rush her to the Smith Animal Clinic.

Getting through the Sight seers was horrible... thank God for the National Guard and police. They made the inpassible passible. Several TV stations from Phenox, AZ, St. Louis, MO, and New York, NY carried the Pups story That She lived. Wave 3 did an after inteview With my Daughter and all she saw though the childs eyes. It was awsome. I cannot wait until we get the Church rebuilt.

Julene Robinson - Marengo, IN

My husband and I did not even know the storms were coming. We drive for a living and had just returned home from Boston. We were sleeping late and had not turned on the TV or heard the news.

Our computer is in our bedroom and we were checking email when the power went off. Then we noticed it was real dark outside. My husband was looking out the kitchen window and I was looking out the front window when I saw my rocking chair go flying off the porch.

About that time I heard my husband scream to head for the cellar. Looking out the kitchen window we saw trees and tree limbs going down, our picnic table in the back being picked up and a cat go flying past the window about 30 miles an hour, 4 or 5 feet off the ground.

When my husband opened the kitchen door to head for the cellar a big gust of wind blew leaves all through the house and then it was over. We never got to the cellar. My daughter and her man had made it to the cellar. She had her head stuck out now and was hollering to see if we were ok.

We had a tree limb go through the bedroom wall, and all the trees in the back yard were either on the ground or had limbs blew out. The cat that blew away showed up unharmed about 3 hours later. My husband suggested we change its name from Frankie to Air Force One. Channel 24 news out of Memphis, Tennessee heard about the cat and came over and interviewed us about it.
